Instrument Description
This is a custom built instrument made for me by Fender for the 'Experience Hendrix' 2014 tour.
The obvious cosmetic modification in a 'nod' to Jimi is the 'reverse' headstock.
Less obvious is the scratch plate which has a piece 'missing' from the lower horn, inspired by one of Jeff Beck's Strats. His scratch plate was broken at this point and I always thought it looked pretty cool so I've had that 'mod' put on a couple of my Strats.
The theft took place sometime during my band's current September 2014 tour. Unfortunately the precise location of the incident is unknown because all of my tour guitars, plus this custom, were packaged together for the trip to Montana and on to Kalamazoo and it was only later in the tour that the theft was detected.
